Group effort: the 15 hypotheses!

Below are my 15 hypotheses as discussed in class, however I have made a couple of subtractions and additions due to their appropriateness!

MARIA AGNESI

1. Agnesi lived her life battling the norms of convention.

2. Agnesi believed that the most complicated forms began with the simplest mathematical formulas. 

3. Agnesi's life was part of a mathematical system of opposing differential and integral calculus.

4. Agnesi believed that x-axis to be the vertical axis whilst the y-axis was the horizontal axis. 

5. Agnesi believed that numbers were the basis for deeper symbolic meaning. 

ISAAC NEWTON 

1. Isaac Newton believed that every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction. 

2. If it wasn't for apples, we would still be floating in space.

3. Newton believed that the sun holds the power to the universe.

4. Every object has its own force of attraction.

5. Humans will deconstruct the earth through the over development of society.

SIGMUND FREUD

1. The mind is a prison. 

2. Freud believed in the power of smoking to improve concentration and thus increase the capacity to work. 

3. Freud believed in the use of cocaine to heal physical and mental illness. 

4. Freud believed he was an artificial construct.

5. The mind has another level when in hypnosis.

Final model in google sketchup 3D warehouse...

After hours of trying to upload my model onto google warehouse last night since about 8pm, both through sketchup itself and 3D warehouse website it just will not work. Trying directly through google sketchup i keep receiving "UNAUTHORISED" whilst trying online it just keeps loading and loading for hours... 


So taking Russell's advice to another student I have uploaded my final product onto Rapid Share both in .skp and .kmz form....I hope this is okay and when i am in uni on tuesday will try to upload it onto warehouse.

Applied textures to SketchUp model....

"Natural" texture added to David Malangi's studio to highlight the unusual pattern of the glass

"Porous" texture added to one of the front walls of Ron Mueck's studio to enhance the unique shapes that exist within his studio space as well as to draw the viewers eye inside the studio. 

"Abrasive" texture added to Ron Mueck's studio to create a contrast between the starkness of the white shapes with that of the texture and thus bring that particular shape to the forefront.

The video I have chosen, entitled "strange architecture", expresses the fact that we live in a world where everything has an element of deja vu associated with it, thus through creating structures that lie on the periphery of society, architects are able to challenge and modify peoples opinions towards what a structure can or can not be. This, I believe was a major factor in the scheme of my google sketchup model, where I was inspired by these unusual structures to create my own 'strange' piece of architecture.
